CM Revanth: Job Calendar Soon, Changes in Groups Exams at This Stage Would Lead to Legal Issues

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reaffirmed the Congress state government’s commitment to addressing unemployment by filling vacancies as promised during elections. He said the state government would soon issue a job calendar and urged students and unemployed persons not to be swayed by political conspiracies of rival parties and selfish interests.

Revanth Reddy was speaking at a meeting at his residence following protests by students unions at the TGSPSC office earlier in the day, demanding addition of few more posts in groups notifications that were already issued, rescheduling of exams and other issues.

Revanth Reddy stated that the Congress government had filled 28,942 job vacancies in 100 days as promised. He assured the students that the state government was navigating legal complexities to ensure fair and timely recruitment. “The government has overcome all the complications of Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 appointments which have been pending for years,” he stated.

He stated that a job calendar outlining the schedule for competitive exams will be released after discussing it in the Assembly. This calendar aims to avoid date clashes with other recruitment exams.

The Chief Minister addressed the demand for selecting candidates for the Group 1 mains exam at a 1:100 ratio instead of the current 1:50. Officials explained the legal risks associated with changing the selection ratio, referencing previous issues with exam postponements and paper leaks under the former BRS government.

A detailed discussion was held regarding increasing the number of Group 2 and Group 3 posts. Officials advised that such changes during the ongoing examination process could violate the notification and prompt judicial scrutiny.

While changes could be considered from Group 1 posts because a fresh Group 1 notification was issued, similar flexibility was not available for Group 2 and Group 3 notifications.
