CM Revanth Reddy Hails Indira Gandhi’s Pioneering Measures on her Death Anniversary

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday paid rich tributes to former prime minister Indira Gandhi and recalled her immense contributions to the country on her death anniversary during a ceremony organised at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday.

Reddy said that she had declared that every drop of her blood would invigorate the nation. He said that despite knowing that her life was in danger, she took tough decisions for India’s unity and strength and moved forward.

The Chief Minister said that Indira Gandhi had worked relentlessly for the country’s progress and uplift of the poor with revolutionary decisions like the abolition of privy purse and princely privileges, nationalisation of banks and 20-point programme.

Reddy said that the people's government in Telangana has taken her rule as the guiding force.

“It is in the spirit of that great leader that we have undertaken the Indiramma Housing scheme for the betterment of the poor,” he said.
