2 more power units at YTPP

Nalgonda: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday launched the Unit-I and II of Yadadri Thermal Power Plant.

Along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, the Chief Minister unveiled a pylon on the premises of the thermal power plant. He launched the energisation of Unit-I and II of 4,000 MW the plant.

Units I and II together would generate 1,600 MW of power. After 74 hours of continuous generation of power, the two units would be connected to the power grid.

During his tour to the district, the Chief Minister also launched the delivery channel of Brahmana Vellamla Project in Narketpally. He inquired from the officials about the status of the works and instructed them to provide irrigation to farmers through by completing the works as early as possible.

The project aimed at providing irrigation facility to farmers in seven mandals and drinking water facility to 107 villages in erstwhile Nalgonda district.

Chief Minister inaugurated the building of Government Medical College at Nalgonda constructed with Rs.43 crore. He also laid the foundation stone of a government nursing college which was taken up at a cost of Rs.40 crore.
