CM Revanth Reddy meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Monday and discussed various pending issues related to Telangana with the Ministry of Defence.

He discussed in detail the increasing traffic issues in Secunderabad Cantonment areas and its surroundings and the ways to resolve them by allocating defence lands to the State government. He also discussed setting up a Sainik School in Warangal.

For the last few years, a request has been pending with the Ministry over expediting the transfer of around 160 acres of defence lands to the State government to facilitate development of public infrastructure, in exchange for equally valuable lands outside the city.

One more pending issue with the Ministry is merger of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for providing better civic amenities. However, an approval from the Ministry is still awaited. Congress MPs Kadiyam Kavya, Gaddam Vamshi Krishna, K Raghuveer Reddy and other senior leaders were also present.
