Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, presented a wish list of 12 demands to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting in New Delhi on Thursday.
In the meeting that lasted for about an hour, Reddy and Bhatti requested the PM to exempt the Shravanapalli coal block from the auction list and its allocation along with Koyagudem and Sattupalli Block 3, to SCCL. This was vital to meet the state's power generation needs, they said.
Emphasising the need to boost IT infrastructure, the CM sought the revival of ITIR in Hyderabad to encourage the growth of IT companies and developers. The project, initially approved in 2010, has been stalled since 2014.
He sought allocation of 2,450 acres of defence land to the state for infrastructure projects, including elevated corridors on the Hyderabad-Karimnagar and Hyderabad-Nagpur highways (NH-44). He offered alternative land in Raviryal in exchange.
Revanth Reddy reiterated the need to fulfill promises made during the state reorganisation, including the establishment of a steel plant in Bayyaram and a coach factory in Kazipet.
Highlighting the lower allocation of houses to Telangana in the initial phase, Revanth Reddy requested the sanction of 25 lakh houses in the ensuing phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The state was prepared to align its guidelines with those of PMAY, he said.
Given the interest of several companies in setting up semiconductor fabs in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy sought the inclusion of Telangana in the India Semiconductor Mission.
Revanth Reddy requested the immediate sanction of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad, citing available land on the University of Hyderabad (UoH) campus in Gachibowli.
A request was made for the release of pending ₹1,800 crore under the Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) for the years 2019-24.
Revanth Reddy sought the upgradation of 13 state highways into national highways to meet increased transportation needs and improve connectivity to major towns and pilgrimage sites.
The CM urged to expedite tenders for the northern part of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road Project (RRR) and its southern extension, emphasising its importance for the development of national highways around Hyderabad.
