HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday registered his details in the ongoing caste census and directed officials to launch a special drive to ensure that VVIPs, IAS and IPS officials, MLAs, MPs and other public representatives in the state are included in the survey.

He provided his information to enumerators at his residence in Jubilee Hills as part of the comprehensive social, economic, educational, employment, political, and caste survey being conducted across the state.

Hyderabad collector Anudeep Durishetty, GHMC commissioner K. Ilambarithi and the CM’s special secretary Ajith Reddy were present during the enumeration process.

On the occasion, Reddy reviewed the survey's progress and public response, stressing the need for its swift completion. He urged officials to ensure that all government employees register details promptly.

Launched on November 9, the door-to-door caste census has made significant progress, covering 95 per cent of the 1,18,02,726 identified households.

Data from 1,10,98,360 households have been collected across the state till Thursday, with only 6,59,839 households remaining. Digitisation of records is underway, with 39,51,469 households documented.

In the GHMC limits, the data is yet to be collected from 4,54,240 households. GHMC limits reported 81.5 per cent completion of survey.

The state government expects to complete the fieldwork by the first week of December and present a detailed report in the Assembly by mid-December. The CM has stressed the importance of the caste survey in shaping future policies for the state's socio-economic development.
