CM Revanth Reddy starts Musi padayatra from Sangem village
Hyderabad: After offering special prayers in connection with his birthday at Yadagirigutta temple, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday took part in Musi River rejuvenation sankalpa padayatra starting from Sangem to highlight ill-effects of Musi River, one of the most polluted rivers in the country, on people’s health and fertile land.
A large number of party leaders, followers and Ministers accompanied him. Revanth Reddy came to Sangem from Yadagirigutta and offered prayers at the village’s historic Bheema Lingeshwara Swamy temple. Later, he started his Musi padayatra from Sangem in Valigonda mandal in the afternoon and examined the water in Musi River.
Revanth Reddy came to Sangem after reviewing the pending development projects around the temple with officials of Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA).
Revanth Reddy’s padayatra along with local farmers from the Musi catchment area was aimed at bringing attention to the pollution challenges plaguing the river. Initially planned as a six-kilometre walk, the padayatra has been reduced to 2.5 km due to time constraints. The padayatra proceeded from Dharmareddy canal to Sangem-Nagireddypally, where he addressed a public meeting.
