CM Revanth Sanctions Rs 20 Cr for Bonalu Fest

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday sanctioned Rs 20 crore for Bonalu arrangements, minister for endowments Konda Surekha announced this during a review meeting at the state secretariat.

She said the money will cover decoration of temples, purchase of silk clothes, Ambari elephant procession, electricity, information and public relations among other expenses.

Stating that a state level festival management committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the chief minister, Surekha said besides herself, the seven-member panel comprises minister of revenue department, Hyderabad and Rangareddy district in-charge ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Sridhar Babu, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender and chief secretary of revenue department.

The minister also directed officials to organise hoardings and other promotional programs to showcase Bonala festivals and take measures for live broadcasts of the festivals on the DD Yadgari channel.

Officials were also told to organise the celebrations in Telangana Bhavan in Delhi to enhance the reputation of Telangana.
