CM Revanth to Hoist National Flag at Golconda Fort on I-Day
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will hoist the National Flag at Golconda Fort on Independence Day this. Prior to that, Revanth Reddy will pay tribute to martyrs at the War Memorial at Parade Ground.
The cultural department was asked to bring nearly 1,000 artistes to perform during the event. Rehearsals will be held from August 10 while full dress rehearsals will be held on August 13.
Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari held a review meeting last week and directed the officials to ensure that all arrangements are made in a befitting manner.
The police department was told to prepare a traffic route map duly assigning alighting and pick-up points and parking places.
The CS asked the roads and buildings department to make proper arrangements at the main dais to facilitate proper visibility of the Chief Minister during his address. Important buildings will be illuminated.
The municipal administration department was directed to arrange cleaning of garbage, levelling roads, maintenance of hygienic conditions besides providing temporary toilets and sufficient numbers of sweepers and other sanitary arrangements at the venues for the August 15 celebrations.
Health officials were told to arrange fully equipped ambulances and nursing assistants. The Directorate General of Fire Services was told to station fire-fighting equipment, while the chief managing director of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Since the formation of Telangana in June 2014, the state government has been organising Independence Day celebrations at the Golconda fort, having shifted the venue from the Parade Ground in Secunderabad.
