Nalgonda: Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy will launch distributory channels of Brahmana Vellamla project in Narketpally mandal in the district on December 7.

The CM will also launch energization of United-II of Yadadri Thermal Power Plant at Damaracherla in the district. He will address a public meeting after inaugurating the building of Government Medical College at Nalgonda.

Reviewing the arrangements with the officials for the CM’s tour, minister for roads and buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the works of Brahmana Vellamla Project were completed by the state government. The project, which was taken up in 2008, met a raw deal during BRS government.

The project would provide irrigation facility to one lakh acres in addition to improving ground water level in the area, he added.

He reminded that the state government had sanctioned Rs 4,540 crore for the works of Srishailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC). Boring machines would soon reach the state and tunnel drilling work would be resumed following it.

He said state tenders will be called by the government next month for rejuvenation of Musi river which would save the people of erstwhile Nalgonda from pollution.
