Revanth wants ORR cams linked to Command Control

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to connect all the CCTV cameras within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits to the Police Command Control Centre in Banjara Hills so that officials can immediately deal with any emergency situation that may arise during heavy rain.

Emphasising the need for a robust response system, Revanth Reddy directed officials to utilise the ORR limits as a unit for integrating disaster management efforts.

He was speaking at the police Integrated Command Control Centre, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramara, ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar.

Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari and DGP Ravi Gupta were present during the visit was aimed at reviewing and enhancing the city’s preparedness for the current rainy season.

Revanth Reddy ministers enquired with officials to assess the current strategies in place for inter-departmental coordination.

Officials stated that 141 flood-prone areas have already been identified, and special measures are being implemented to prevent flooding in the city. These include the installation of water harvesters to manage floodwaters efficiently and prevent water accumulation on roads.

To further mitigate traffic issues, the CM instructed authorities to implement physical policing measures and provide traffic alerts to Hyderabad residents via FM radio. He directed the recruitment of home guards to ensure there is no shortage of personnel to address traffic challenges during the rainy season.
