CMRF applications to be accepted only online to check irregularities

CM launches online application website

Hyderabad: Applications for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) will now be accepted only in online mode, as part of a new policy aimed at ensuring transparency in disbursement of CMRF cheques to the affected. This decision follows instructions from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who launched the dedicated website for this initiative under the auspices of the Centre for Good Governance at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

The new initiative comes in the wake of large-scale irregularities and diversion of CMRF funds witnessed during the previous BRS regime. The new online process aims to streamline and secure the application and disbursement procedures.

Under the new system, applicants must upload their CMRF applications on the designated website. MLAs and MLCs are required to upload their recommendation letters after collecting the necessary details from those seeking CMRF assistance. Each application must include the applicant’s bank account number. Once an application is uploaded, a unique CMRF code will be generated.

Applicants must then submit the original medical bills associated with the CMRF code at the Secretariat. The online application will be sent to the respective hospitals for verification. Upon confirmation of all details, the CMRF application will be approved, and a check will be prepared. To ensure security and prevent any misplacement, the applicant's account number will be printed directly on the check.

Public representatives will personally hand over the checks to the applicants, further ensuring that the funds reach the intended recipients. Starting from July 15, 2024, CMRF applications will be exclusively accepted through the online portal.

Applicants can access the application process at https://cmrf.telangana.gov.in.

This move is expected to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the CMRF fund distribution, ensuring that aid reaches those in genuine need without any delays or discrepancies.
