CM’s Visit Boosts Cong. Campaign for MLC Polls

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to lead Congress campaign for MLC elections, rallying support from graduates and key leaders in Telangana.

Nizamabad: Congress leaders are hopeful that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s active campaign for the MLC elections will bolster their chances of securing victory. For the first time, the CM will conduct a poll campaign specifically targeting the graduate's constituency. On February 24, he is scheduled to address party activists, graduates, and public organisation leaders in Nizamabad.

The Chief Minister is set to arrive by helicopter at Government Giriraj College grounds at 11 am on Monday before proceeding to the Bhum Reddy Convention Hall at Borgam (P) for the meeting. Senior Congress figures, including MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy and district Congress committee president Manala Mohan Reddy, are coordinating the event, which will also see participation from caste elders and various organisation leaders.

Voters from Nizamabad urban and rural areas, as well as from Armoor, Balkonda, Bodhan, Banswada, Jukkal, Yellareddy, and Kamareddy Assembly constituencies, will be invited to the meeting. Additionally, a few participants from the Korutla Assembly constituency in neighboring Jagtial district are expected to attend. The graduates constituency spans the undivided Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Adilabad-Medak districts, and the CM will also participate in meetings in Nizamabad and Mancherial on Monday.

In a strategic move, the Congress has fielded V. Narender Reddy, a private educational institution owner from Karimnagar, as its nominee for the graduates constituency. The party is confident of retaining the graduates MLC seat, currently held by senior leader T. Jeevan Reddy, especially with the absence of the BRS and the BJP’s vigorous campaign.

State cooperative corporation chairman and district Congress committee president Manala Mohan Reddy told Deccan Chronicle that Revanth Reddy’s visit to the undivided Nizamabad and Adilabad districts has significantly boosted the party’s prospects, calling it a “great opportunity” for the party to clinch the MLC elections.
