Farmhouse belongs to me, says BRS MLC
Hyderabad: BRS MLC P Srinivas Reddy responded to the notice issued to him saying that the farmhouse at Tolkatta village in Moinabad, where the Cyberabad police busted a cockfighting racket a few days ago belongs to him and he had given the premises for lease to one Ramesh.
He clarified that he had nothing to do with the racket. He responded to the notice issued by the Moinabad police under Section 35(1) of BNSS on Thursday through his advocate.
The Moinabad police Thursday issued a notice to Srinivas Reddy seeking a clarification from him in connection with cockfighting and gaming organized on the premises owned by him at Tolkatta village in Moinabad in Ranga Reddy district.
Following a complaint of Moinabad SI Nayeemuddin, a case has been registered under Section 3 and 4 of TS Gaming Act-1974 and Section 11 of Cruelty to Animals Act-1960 at the Moinabad police station. The SI said some persons were found to be playing cockfighting by betting money in a farm house at survey number 165 near Tolkatta village.
According to the evidence collected from the farmhouse, it came to know that the land in survey number 165 near Tolkatta village where cockfighting was organized belongs to Srinivas Reddy
In the notice, the Moinabad police sought an explanation from Srinivas Reddy and instructed him to produce any relevant documents, or any other related evidences in order to proceed in effective investigation within the four days from the receipt of the notice otherwise, it will construed that he has no evidence on hand and the case will be finalized on merits of the investigation. In all, the police arrested 64 persons after conducting a raid at the farmhouse.
