Comcast to Set Up GCC in Hyd: Sridhar Babu
Hyderabad: Comcast, part of Universal Studios, has expressed interest in setting up a global capability centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, according to IT minister D. Sridhar Babu. The proposed centre will focus on advanced product development and innovative solutions within the unified communications domain, substantially enhancing Comcast’s managed solutions and connectivity portfolio.
A press release from Sridhar Babu's office informed that Comcast's decision is a strategic move that could attract further investments from Universal Studios. This development is anticipated to bolster the global prominence of Tollywood, leveraging its status as the world's most prolific film industry by volume of production.
Touring the US with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, minister Sridhar Babu met Comcast's senior leadership team, including executive vice-president Mel Penna, chief technology officer Rick Riobolli and chief information officer Mike Crisafulli where the discussions centred around Comcast’s commitment to Hyderabad as a hub for technological innovation and industry growth.
