COMI to hold anti-drug awareness rally in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The confederation of minority institutions (COMI) will lead an anti-drug awareness rally in Hyderabad on August 16 with the participation of over 5,000 schoolchildren from across the city.

The rally, which will commence at 3 pm at the Khaja Shouq Meeting Hall (Urdu Maskan) in Khilwath, aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and encourage a drug-free lifestyle among the younger generation.

The event will be graced by several prominent figures, including chief fuest Sandeep Shandilya, IPS, director of the Telangana anti-narcotics bureau, along with guest of honour Sneha Mehra, IPS, deputy commissioner of police, south zone, and Janab S.A. Huda Saheb, IPS (retd), former director general of police, Andhra Pradesh.

With drug abuse becoming an increasingly pressing issue, especially among schoolchildren, COMI's rally hopes to curb this trend. The rally is expected to inspire continued action against the threat of drugs, laying the foundation for a healthier future for the children and youth of Hyderabad.

The executive committee of COMI, during its recent meeting resolved to make the rally a focal point of its efforts to combat the drug menace. In addition to the rally, an expert talk by the narcotic department has been scheduled to educate participants on the legal, social, and health ramifications of drug abuse.
