Compensate Farmers Before Starting Udandapur Dam Works: Aruna

Aruna visited the protestors’ camp and assured them that she would stand by them till they secured fair compensation. She demanded the government to pay compensation to all aged above 18 years

Hyderabad: BJP Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna extended support to the farmers who are protesting and demanded the state government to compensate them liberally for losing agricultural lands for Udandapur dam near Jadcherla which is part of Palamuru-RangaReddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS).

Aruna visited the protestors’ camp and assured them that she would stand by them till they secured fair compensation. She demanded the government to pay compensation to all aged above 18 years. She charged that the government was trying to create hurdles to the farmers to stall their protest.

The main conduit works of PRLIS are divided into 21 packages. Presently, works on 18 packages from Narlapur to Udandapur reservoir are in progress.

Stating that the farmers are not against the dam, Aruna said that they were only seeking fair compensation as the government had earlier agreed to pay Rs 26 lakh as compensation. She said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, as a native of Mahabubnagar district, must sincerely work to pay adequate compensation to farmers. Reddy must call the protesting farmers to his camp office and settle their issues, she said
