Complete Yadadri thermal power plant by March, Bhatti tells officials

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka gave strict instructions to all officials to complete work on the 4,000 MW Yadadri thermal power plant by next March. Bhatti said that he would visit the plant later this month and interact with officials and staff on a regular basis.

Reviewing the progress of the work plant here on Sunday, he asked them to complete all five units in time-bound phases. On being told that many staff members were falling sick, he directed them to procure mosquito nets and to take up immediate fogging of the area.

He said tenders should be called for construction of staff quarters on priority basis. Till then, transport arrangements should be made for the staff from Miryalaguda and Damacharla. He sought a status report on the proposed four-lane bypass road between Talla Veerappagudem and Damaracherla in a week

At another review, Bhatti said a decision on issuing new ration cards will be taken soon. Separate identity cards will be given for availing welfare schemes. He asked officials for suggestions on the government policy.

Separately, he sought department-wise complaints and solutions.

Prajavani nodal officer Divya Devarajan informed that efforts are being made to keep people informed about the status of their complaints by SMS messages. “Most of the complaints pertain to new ration cards, pensions and Dharani,” she added.

He said, “New ration cards will be issued after a decision is taken. New pensions will also be given soon. In addition to giving women sewing machines, it is imperative to train them at government cost. If aarogyasri desks in hospitals are strengthened, complaints regarding CMRF will also reduce.”

He hinted at training mandal-level staff who issue zero power bills.

Citing an instance of attending to grievances, Divya Devarajan said that a farmer from Mahbubnagar, who had complained about low hanging electric cables in Praja Vani, had written to them appreciating that fact that his problem was resolved within two days.
