Cong govt. will work for people’s welfare for next two decades: Bhatti
HYDERABAD: The Congress government will work for welfare of people for the next two decades and all the Congress ideologues should unite and come forward to work together, said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu here on Monday.
Speaking at the meeting on the occasion of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s (YSR) birth anniversary at Gandhi Bhavan here, he called upon all those leaders and others, who moved away from Congress due to various reasons or changes in the institutions to come back to party’s fold to take Indiramma government’s welfare programmes to people.
He said YSR left an indelible mark on people’s hearts with his development and welfare programmes. His last wish was to make Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister. “Let’s all strive to work for YSR’s ideals and dedicate ourselves to his thought process and work again for the public,” he said. Noting that even after a decade, YSR’s footsteps are still intact in the country, Bhatti said YSR took the State forward with Development and welfare as his two eyes.
The fruits of Jala Yagnam programme are today’s irrigation projects and helping the State. Indiramma housing became a popular programme and YSR’s Fee Reimbursement programme helped Telugu people to make an impact globally.
YSR was the leader, who brought the Rajiv Arogyasri programme to rescue poor people from ill health and diseases and made medical treatment affordable to them. Lauding YSR’s foresight, Bhatti said that the foundation laid by YSR then, became the reason for speedy progress of Telangana State.
Outer Ring Road, Airport, other basic infrastructure made Hyderabad garner space in the world map. “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, myself and the entire Cabinet is committed to public welfare, “Bhatti asserted.
The Congress government would work for people’s welfare for the next two decades and everyone should be united and come forward for this, he exhorted the party leaders and cadre. The State government implemented free RTC bus travel, enhanced Rajiv Aarogyasri health insurance scheme limit to Rs 10 lakh, free power to those consuming below 200 units.
Despite financial difficulties, CM Revanth Reddy would implement farmers’ loan waiver scheme by August 15 in a way that would make the entire country look at Telangana with awe. The Congress government would work in such a way to make every Congress party worker proud.
The State government would fulfill every promise made under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, suggestion of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and stewardship of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, he added.
