Congress Acts on Gurukul Issues After BRS Pressure, Says KTR
Hyderabad: The BRS, which on Monday announced it was setting up a study committee to visit Gurukul schools and suggest measures to improve their conditions, on Tuesday claimed credit for pushing the Congress government “out of its deep slumber that is all well with Gurukul hostels.”
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao had said the committee, announced on Monday by him, would submit a report to the government on steps to be taken on improving conditions at Gurukul schools. This followed the recent deaths of two students in a school in Sircilla district.
Referring to Tuesday’s visit by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and minister Ponnam Prabhakar to Gurukul schools in the district, Rama Rao said in a post on X: “Hope the Deputy CM and government will take all necessary steps to prevent loss of life and improve quality of food being served across 1000 plus Gurukuls established by KCR government (sic).”
