Bhongir: Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday accused both Congress and BRS of shying away from fielding candidates in three upcoming MLC elections, citing opposition from youth and teachers as the reason. Speaking at a media conference in Bhongir, Reddy criticised the Congress government for failing to deliver on its promises to young people and employees during its one-year rule. He alleged that the ruling party, which campaigned on a promise of change, has not improved the lives of the poor, citing delayed retirement benefits and hardships caused by GO 317 — introduced by the previous BRS government post-district reorganisation.

Kishan Reddy expressed confidence in the BJP's prospects, predicting victories in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers MLC, Medak-Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Adilabad Graduates MLC, and Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers MLC contests.
The minister also challenged AICC leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to an open debate at Ashok Nagar Library regarding the Congress's poll promise to create two lakh jobs within a year. In a separate statement, he condemned the brutal killing of social activist in Bhupalapally district, urging police to launch a thorough investigation and bring those responsible to justice.
