Congress Comes Good on Promise by Conducting Caste Survey: Ponnam

Karimnagar: As promised to people, the Congress party will take up a comprehensive house-hold caste survey from November 6 across Telangana, said backward class welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday.

The minister said as per the Kamareddy Declaration, after caste survey, the government will increase the quota of backward classes. In Karimnagar district, the survey will be conducted by 2,500 members in 3.7 lakhs households.

He alleged that the BRS government took five years to waive crop loan of Rs 1 lakh to the farmers whereas the Congress waived crop loans of Rs.2 lakhs in a phased manner within eight months of coming to power.

Both Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Kishan Reddy must explain to people what they did to the people of Telangana and about the promise of providing 2 crores of jobs to unemployed youths. When farmers faced huge losses due to heavy rains, they did not sanction sufficient funds even after estimating the losses.

Congress leaders should create awareness among people regarding the caste survey by accompanying the staff during the survey. They must explain to people that as per the promise made by AICC leader Rahul Gandhi, the government is taking up caste surveys, he added.
