Congress Cut Cash in Rythu Bharosa: Ex-BRS MLA

Karimnagar: Former BRS MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy on Sunday accused the Congress government of deceiving farmers, labelling the Rythu Bharosa scheme a complete fraud. Speaking at a press meet in Balasamudram, Hanamkonda, Reddy alleged that during the Rythu declaration meeting on May 6, 2022, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had promised farmers Rs 15,000 per acre. However, in the Cabinet meeting on Saturday, the CM announced only Rs 12,000 per acre for two crops, which Reddy called a betrayal.

Reddy also criticised the government's promise of a Rs 500 bonus for all paddy varieties, stating that bonuses were only given for fine rice and fulfilled for just 30 per cent of cases. Additionally, he highlighted that the crop loan waiver scheme was limited to only 30 per cent of farmers and was poorly implemented. Expressing his frustration, Reddy demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy resign, accusing him of lacking moral values and betraying the farmers once again.
