Congress Donates Two Months' Salary for CM Relief Fund Flood Aid
Hyderabad: The Congress has announced the donation of two months’ salary of party MPs, MLCs, MLAs, chairpersons of corporations and government advisers to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to pay for flood-affected persons, said IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu on Sunday.
He said that the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy along with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud has taken a decision in this regard.
The Telangana Forest Development Corporation (TGFDC) contributed Rs.2 crore to the CMRF.
Responding to a request from agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao to IT minister D. Sridhar Babu, the Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) sent essential goods worth `3 crore for distribution to the people of the flood affected areas in Khammam. The goods were sent to the areas from the Secretariat on Sunday in Hyderabad by the ministers.
The kits, each worth Rs.3,000, contain rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, salt, chili powder and towels. In all, 10,000 kits were sent to Khammam.
Representative of Credai met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence on Sunday and handed over cheque for Rs 1 crore to CMRF. Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd (NCC) chairman MD Ranga Raju met Revanth Reddy and handed over a cheque for Rs.1 crore to the CMRF.
KNR Constructions Ltd handed over a cheque of Rs.2 crore; Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) founder and Vice-Chancellor G. Viswanathan Rs.1.5 crore; Raheja Group head Ravi Raheja Rs.5 crore; to CMRF, RVR Projects Pvt Ltd Rs.1 crore; GMR Group Rs.2.5 crore; Chemiloids chairman Ranga Raju Rs.1 crore; Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions Rs.1 crore, VIRCO Pharma Rs.1 crore and Apollo Hospital JMD Sangita Reddy contributed Rs.1 crore to the CMRF.
