Revanth Vows To Turn Telangana Into Global Economic Powerhouse
CM highlights jobs, housing and education initiatives at Telangana Formation Day event

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday unveiled an ambitious vision to transform Telangana into a global economic powerhouse, stating that his dream was to position the state not merely as a gateway to India but as a gateway to the world.
The roadmap for achieving this goal has been outlined in the “Telangana Rising–2047” Vision Document, he said while addressing the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad
Owing to the intense summer heat, Revanth Reddy concluded his address early. Although a 16-page speech had been prepared, he read only the first nine pages and skipped the remaining seven pages.
Stating that the government was giving equal priority to development and welfare, the Chief Minister claimed Telangana is the only state implementing a wide range of welfare programmes while simultaneously pursuing rapid development, making it a role model for the country. He said that over the past two-and-a-half years the government has taken several policy decisions and implemented action plans to fulfil the aspirations of all sections of society.
Urging farmers to diversify crop cultivation, the Chief Minister said Telangana should evolve into a land of diverse and abundant harvests. He revealed that the government had spent Rs 1,56,496 crore on agriculture and farmer welfare during the past two-and-a-half years.
The Chief Minister said it was the firm resolve of the “people’s government” to make Telangana a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He asserted that no other state in the country has prepared a comprehensive master plan covering an entire state in the manner envisaged under Telangana Rising–2047.
Revanth Reddy said the vision document classified Telangana into three development zones — CURE, PURE and RARE — and adopted a three-tier strategy for balanced growth. CURE, the core urban region economy, within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) would be developed into a world-class services hub. The primary objective is to make the area completely eco-friendly and pollution-free. To achieve this, the government has introduced the HILT Policy to facilitate the relocation of polluting industries beyond the ORR and was promoting electric vehicles by providing exemptions on registration fees, road taxes and lifetime taxes.
The Chief Minister said the government was constructing the Regional Ring Road on the lines of the ORR and planned to transform the area between the two ring roads into the PURE (Peri-Urban Region Economy) zone, to serve as a major centre for infrastructure and manufacturing. He announced the development of Bharat Future City, a 30,000-acre greenfield smart city, and said regional connectivity would be strengthened by developing Shamshabad as a bullet train hub.
Explaining the third component of the vision, Revanth Reddy said the RARE zone would represent the very heart of Telangana’s DNA. Extending from the Regional Ring Road to the state’s borders, the zone will focus on agriculture, agro-based industries, irrigation, agricultural research, crop diversification and allied sectors through industries and research centres established in the region.
Revanth Reddy said the people’s government has been working tirelessly since assuming office on December 7, 2023, with the twin goals of public welfare and state development. He reiterated that eradication of poverty remains the government’s top priority.
Highlighting agriculture as a cornerstone of Telangana Rising–2047, he said the policy document gives top priority to agriculture, agro-based industries and allied sectors with the objective of making Telangana a national leader in these fields while bringing transformative change in farmers’ lives. According to 2025-26 estimates, Telangana achieved a record foodgrain production of 236.87 lakh tonnes. He said government incentives had yielded outstanding results in paddy, maize and cotton production, while the livestock and fisheries sectors had also registered substantial growth.
The Chief Minister said the government was procuring crops from farmers at the minimum support price to protect them from exploitation by middlemen despite the financial burden involved. Since assuming office, the government had spent `82,840 crore on procurement. During the current Rabi season, paddy procurement is being carried out through 8,575 centres across the state. So far, 63.65 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy have been procured and `11,903 crore deposited directly into farmer bank accounts. He added that nearly 10,000 metric tonnes of wet paddy were also procured to prevent losses to farmers affected by unseasonal rains.
Claiming Telangana had become the undisputed leader in paddy procurement, Revanth Reddy said no other state in the country was in a position to compete with Telangana. He noted that Telangana accounted for 60 per cent of the total paddy procured across the country during the Yasangi (Rabi) season.
On employment generation, the Chief Minister said the government had successfully recruitment processes without legal complications or litigation. Transparency had been restored in recruitment by reforming the Telangana Public Service Commission and other recruitment boards. Recruitment drives were conducted for Group-I, Group-II, Group-III and Group-IV services, Mega DSC and the medical and health department. A record 67,763 posts were filled within a short period, setting an example for the entire country, he said.
He also said that, for the first time, the government organised a foundation course for 562 newly recruited Group-I officers and 782 Group-II officers before they joined service, similar to the training imparted to All India Service officers.
Announcing further recruitment initiatives, Revanth Reddy said notifications would be issued through TGPSC during the current month for filling posts in engineering departments, the Pollution Control Board, Forest department, Town and Country Planning department and the Education department. He added that the process of issuing recruitment notifications would continue on a regular basis.
The Chief Minister highlighted progress in aviation infrastructure, stating that the state government had successfully secured Central approval for airports at Warangal and Adilabad after sustained efforts. The government was taking steps to expedite construction of both facilities. He said all 950 acres required for the development of the Warangal airport had already been handed over to the Airports Authority of India and expressed confidence that development works would commence shortly.
