Congress has no right to seek MLC votes: Maheshwar Reddy

Maheshwar Reddy also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating that while he had made serious allegations against BRS leaders as PCC chief, however, no action had been taken against them after Congress came to power

Hyderabad: BJP floor leader A. Maheshwar Reddy accused the Congress of failing to deliver on its promises and said the party has no moral right to seek votes in the upcoming MLC elections. He alleged that Congress, in its 14 months of rule, had done nothing substantial for the welfare of unemployed sections in the state.

Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the MLC polls in Nirmal, the BJP leader claimed that the Congress had deceived unemployed youth by promising regular job notifications and unemployment allowances, neither of which materialised so far. He further accused the government of neglecting employees by delaying the announcement of a new Pay Revision Commission. Retired employees, he added, had also been left in the lurch, with pensions and other benefits remaining unpaid for months.

Maheshwar Reddy also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating that while he had made serious allegations against BRS leaders as PCC chief, however, no action had been taken against them after Congress came to power. This, he said, indicates a secret deal between Congress and BRS. He urged graduate voters and teachers to support BJP candidates by casting their first preference vote in the MLC elections. Graduates’ MLC candidate C. Anji Reddy, teachers’ MLC candidate Malka Komaraiah, Mudhol MLA Ramarao Patel and others attended the meeting.
