Congress ignoring employee issues: Bandi

Hyderabad: Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Congress government for failing to address key employee issues, including the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and pending dues. Speaking at a meeting of employees and teachers in Karimnagar, he questioned why those who were at the forefront of the Telangana struggle are now struggling to secure even their General Provident Fund (GPF).

Highlighting the growing financial burden on employees, he pointed out that pending DA, GPF, medical and gratuity dues have reached Rs 8,200 crore, while retirement benefits have soared to Rs 11,000 crore. He accused the Congress government of failing to implement the six guarantees it had promised and urged employees to reflect on who had truly supported their cause, even going to jail for them.

Sanjay also targeted the Congress over its reservation policies, claiming that granting 4 per cent reservation to Muslims had helped AIMIM gain seats in GHMC elections. He alleged that the recent caste survey deliberately reduced the BC population count by 60 lakh and questioned why the promised 42 per cent BC reservations had not been implemented. "How can Muslims be included in quotas meant for Hindus," he asked, equating Congress and BRS as two sides of the same coin.

He claimed that Congress MLAs themselves were unhappy with their government and claimed that the government would not last long. “Once the 10 defecting MLAs are disqualified and face elections, BJP would win at least seven seats in the upcoming bypolls,” Sanjay said.

He also blamed the previous BRS government for delaying salaries and withholding payments to employees, while clearing bills for ministers. He argued that the increase in the retirement age from 58 to 61 was merely a tactic to postpone pension payments.

Urging voters to hold Congress accountable, he asked the employees to question party leaders about unfulfilled promises, including the Rs 4,000 unemployment allowance, two lakh job vacancies, one tola gold for women, scooters and Rs 2,500 monthly aid for women.
