Congress Leaders Eying Yadagirigutta Temple Board Positions
Bhongir: In the wake of the state government’s decision to form a board for Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple on the lines of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board, intense lobbying has started among Congress leaders in Nalgonda district for the chairman and various other posts.
Congress leaders who are yet to get a post a year after the party formed government in the state are lobbying for the positions, making the rounds of offices of ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, elected from the erstwhile Nalgonda district. Government Whip and Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah is also facing pressure from these leaders.
The temple had no committee for 15 years. The BRS government did not appoint the committee, reportedly to minimise political interference in the development of the temple. It had set up the Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA) to oversee the renovation work of the temple.
The government is said to be planning to onboard persons whose reputation would help in the development of the temple.
