Congress Leaders to Renominate Jeevan as MLC

Hyderabad:Key Congress leaders on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution urging the party high command to renominate MLC T. Jeevan Reddy the party candidate for the upcoming elections to one graduate and two teachers seats in the Legislative Council.

The elections are due early next year. Jeevan Reddy was elected in 2018 and his term ends on March 2025.

The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including , MLAs, MLCs, and district Congress committee (DCC) presidents from Medak, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Adilabad districts.

The Congress leadership emphasised taking the MLC elections as a matter of prestige for the ruling party. It was decided to launch an intensive campaign to reach out to Graduates and Teachers voters to secure victory.

The Graduate MLC constituency covers 42 Assembly segments, and the party directed MLAs and constituency in-charges to work in close coordination. Their efforts aim to ensure Congress retains the seat with a comfortable majority, bolstering its standing as the ruling party in Telangana.
