Congress MLA sees Kalvakuntla family going to jail soon
Nizamabad: Nizamabad Rural MLA R. Bhupathi Reddy alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s family members would face legal action and possible imprisonment for corruption during their tenure. He claimed that democracy was revived in Telangana after Congress came to power.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Reddy accused the BRS government of misusing ₹21,000 crore by allotting Rythu Bandhu funds to barren lands. He said voters rejected KCR’s family rule and autocratic leadership in the last Assembly and Parliament elections, opting instead for the Congress.
Reddy assured that the Congress government would soon release ₹12,000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme and allocate ₹20,000 crore for Indiramma houses, ensuring housing for all eligible beneficiaries. He criticised the previous BRS government for burdening the state with ₹7 lakh crore debt while ignoring the welfare of Backward Classes by reducing reservations to 27 per cent.
The MLA reiterated Congress’s commitment to implementing 42 per cent reservations for BCs in local body elections. He also criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, alleging that Rama Rao’s statements about being willing to go to jail for the public were contradictory to his efforts to avoid arrest by approaching the High Court.
