Congress MLAs Accuse KTR, Harish of False Propaganda

Hyderabad: Congress MLAs T. Ram Mohan Reddy, K. Anil Kumar Reddy, and former MLA T. Jagga Reddy criticised BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao, and BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy for spreading false propaganda against the Congress government regarding power cuts and paddy procurement.

At separate press conferences held at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, they accused Rama Rao and Harish Rao of losing their mental balance due to the anticipated poor performance of BRS in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. They claimed that in desperation, BRS leaders were misleading the public with false allegations against the Congress government.

Anil Kumar Reddy stated that Rama Rao and Harish Rao were exploiting power outages at the Bhongir government hospital caused by recent heavy rains and winds to gain political mileage. He pointed out that such outages are common during severe weather and said that power was promptly restored. Anil noted that the hospital experienced 62 power outages last year under BRS rule, criticising the leaders for spreading lies for political gain.

Ram Mohan Reddy targeted BJP leaders G. Kishan Reddy and Alleti Rajeshwar Reddy for making baseless accusations against the Congress government to attract media attention. He defended the government's record on paddy procurement, highlighting that they procured more paddy this rabi season compared to the previous year and promptly paid farmers. Ram Mohan criticised Kishan Reddy for his field visits and accusations of a procurement scam, pointing out the discrepancy between the alleged scam and actual procurement figures.

"Where was Kishan Reddy when Modi government refused to procure paddy from Telangana in rabi season? Maheshwar Reddy is making wild allegations against Congress government on paddy procurement and rice stocks just to grab media headlines. He says Congress government indulged in procurement scam worth over one crore tonnes while he had so far procured only 30 lakh tonnes. This shows his ignorance," Ram Mohan said.
Former MLA T. Jagga Reddy defended civil supplies minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy against allegations of corruption in paddy procurement. He emphasised Uttam Kumar Reddy's long and unblemished political career, dismissing the accusations as unfounded and politically motivated.
