Congress takes extra care to check counting malpractice

Adilabad: The Congress is taking extra care and measures to check malpractice during the counting of votes for the LS elections to be held on June 4.

The party's high command asked its counting agents to inform the AICC and election war room in their respective states via a toll-free number in case of malpractice or inaction by the returning officer regarding the complaints on counting of votes.

On the other hand, district officials made elaborate arrangements for the counting process in Adilabad and Peddapalli constituencies.

District returning officer and collector Rajarshi Shah said they had set up counting centres at three places for seven Assembly constituencies in Adilabad town and three-tier security was arranged at the counting centres and the counting will start by 8 am. A total of 350 election staff with 50 each for Assembly constituencies were deployed for counting.

Congress contestant Atram Suguna and Kisan Congress state general secretary Srikanth Reddy visited the counting centre in Adilabad on Monday.

Atram Sakku of BRS and Godam Nagesh of BJP in Adilabad and Gaddam Vamsi of Congress, Gomasa Srinivas of BJP and Koppula Eshwar of BRS in Peddapalli will visit the counting centres in Mancherial and in Manthani in Peddapalli districts on Tuesday.
