Constable, Home Guard suspended in Suryapet for fighting over sharing mamool

Hyderabad: A police constable and a home guard working in Suryapet in the erstwhile Nalgonda district were placed under suspension for quarreling in the police station over sharing Rs.1500 ‘mamool’ amount.

Taking a serious note of the incident that took place in Penpahad police station, the senior police officials suspended the constable, Ravinder and home guard Srinivas. The duo fought over sharing Rs.1500 at the Penpahad police station even as their colleagues tried to pacify them.

When they came to know about it, the senior officers probed into it and took action against them.

According to sources, the duo got the amount when they attended a call received from a villager. They rushed to the caller’s residence in Penpahad police station and sorted out the issue. As the issue was resolved amicably, the caller gave the amount as ‘goodwill’ as claimed by Ravinder and Srinivas.

They then came to the police station and started quarrelling over sharing the amount equally. Ravinder allegedly offered Srinivas to give only Rs.500 out of Rs.1500. Taking a strong objection to it, Srinivas insisted on sharing the money equally resulting in a quarrel between them in the police station.
