Cops save worker’s life by performing CPR in Mulugu
Warangal: Two constables saved the life of a daily-wage worker by performing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on him in Pasra mandal of Mulugu district on Monday.
The worker, identified as Lakshman, who was sitting on a wall, suddenly fell off it and slipped into an unconscious state after receiving a head injury.
Alerted by the people present there, two constables, who were discharging duty nearby rushed to the spot and performed CPR on him as his pulse was falling. One of the constables, Madhu, performed CPR, while the other one, Madhukar, gave artificial ventilation (breathing) through the unresponsive victim’s mouth. After a few minutes, Lakshman started breathing again. They later rushed him to a local primary health centre for further treatment.
In the wake of frequent incidents of cardiac arrests reported across the state irrespective of age, the police department had conducted training sessions for its personnel on how to perform CPR on cardiac arrest patients in emergencies under all the police commissionerate limits in the state.
Meanwhile, learning about the incident, superintendent of police Shabarish and Pasra SI Kamalakar appreciated the two constables and said that the CPR training provided for police personnel was saving the lives of people in emergencies.
