Cotton seeds available in sufficient quantities, says Agriculture Minister Tummala
Hyderabad: Telangana government has launched “Rythu Nestham '' programme in 110 Rythu Vedikas one each for Assembly constituency on March 6, 2024 in collaboration with scientists of Professor Jayshankar Telangana Agricultural University.
The programme is successfully organized in 10 episodes on every Tuesday to create awareness to the farming community on ongoing agricultural and allied activities. As many as 38,794 farmers including women farmers attended so far.
Episode 11 is organized on June 11 on “Cultivation of High Density Cotton” and “Organic Farming”. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao addressed farmers from various Rythu Vedikas and said sufficient green manure seed has been distributed so far. The additional quantities from other States will also be placed.
He asked farmers not to be worried about the availability of green manure seed and no need to stand in queues as sufficient green manure seed will be made available in the districts. He said farmers that the cotton seed is available sufficiently as per the requirement in the State and advised them not to demand for a particular variety as all the varieties will give equal yields.
He has appreciated the presence of Padmasri ChintalaVenkat Reddy in the programme and requested him to offer his valuable suggestions in future too for the welfare of the farming community. The Minister appreciated the renderance of services being given by Padmasri Yadlapalli Venkateswara Rao to the farming community.
He instructed the Director of Agriculture to take up the Rythu Nestham programme on the relevant and suitable subjects prioritizing the farmers needs based on season. He said Telangana farmers should produce crops duly adopting organic farming system in a profitable manner.
Both Venkateswara Rao and Venkat Reddy explained the importance of organic farming and also requested farmers to adopt an organic farming system for the well being of the people. Dr. B.Gopi, Director of Agriculture informed that in phase-II, the installation of 456 video conference units one each for a mandal will be completed by end of this month and thanked both Padmasri awardees for their participation in Rythu Nestham programme and for their valuable suggestions rendered to farmers.
