CPSEU Slams Central Government's UPS, Calls for Collective Action

Warangal: The Contributory Pension Scheme Employees Union (CPSEU) announced a massive public meeting, Kakatiya Kadana Bheri, on December 22 in Warangal to oppose the Central government’s Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), which is set to take effect on April 1, 2025.

Speaking at the poster release event in Hanamkonda, CPSEU state president Gangapuram Sthita Pragna criticised the UPS policy, alleging it forces employees to forfeit their lifetime earnings, offering no real benefits unless the government stops deductions from their salaries. He claimed the policy prioritises corporate interests over employee welfare and fails to ensure social security for workers’ families.

Sthita Pragna urged all government employees to unite against the policy, emphasising the need for collective action to oppose its implementation. He called for a large turnout at the December 22 meeting to make their concerns heard by the Central government.

Union leaders Kalval Srikanth, Jeevan Kumar, and others were present at the event.
