Nalgonda: Customers locked the State Bank of India (SBI) ranch at Raiaparthy of Warangal district on Friday, following a delay in the payment of refund for stolen ornaments.
Reports said 16 kilograms of gold ornaments mortgaged with the bank by 497 customers for loans were stolen by unidentified thieves on November 19 last year. The case has not yet been solved.
After customers staged protests several times seeking a refund of the cost of the ornaments, the bank officials agreed and asked them to come to the branch on Friday. When there was no resolution, the customers locked the main door of the office and sat in protest.
