Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) in collaboration with Chandanagar police seized ganja worth Rs 17.85 lakh on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a car coming from Odisha and conducted a thorough search.
Upon inspection, they found ganja packets concealed in the car’s bonnet. One of the accused, Chaman (24), a Haryana native, was previously caught by the SOT in an illegal ganja transportation case and handed over to Rajendranagar police.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Chaman (24), a native of Haryana, Shivampet Umankanth (22) from Old Bowenpally Arjuna Sai Krishna (20) from Old Bowenpally, who was previously arrested in another case.
Another accused, Rakesh, a native of Odisha, is currently absconding, police said.
