Dacoity Accused Nabbed After Being on the Run for Three Years

Hyderabad: A dacoity accused, who has evaded arrest for the last three years, was finally nabbed during a joint operation between Cyberabad Kollur police and CCS teams from Rajasthan.

Pradeep is accused of involvement in several dacoity and theft cases in Kollu and Mokila limits. He did not attend court hearings all these three years, leading to issuance of non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against him. Despite multiple attempts by the team to track him down in Rajasthan, hemanaged to evade capture until now. After a series of tip-offs, the team successfully located and arrested him in Rajkheda, Dholpur district, Rajasthan. The accused was produced before a court in Rajasthan, from where a transit warrant was secured.

Inspector K. Ravinder told Deccan Chronicle, “Pradeep is part of a notorious gang of seven individuals, involved in multiple criminal cases, particularly in Kollur, Mokila, and Narsingi police station limits. Three members of the gang are currently in jail. The CCS team has been working diligently to locate them.”

The gang members, all natives of Rajasthan, have been residing in Dundigal working at construction sites as laborers and painters.

Techie Moved Down after Night Shift

Hyderabad: A software processional employed with a start-up was run over early on Monday while returning from his night shift, Sanathnagar police said. Police were trying to ascertain the two-wheeler of K. Nagaraju skidded and fell under the wheels of a bus or whether the bus ran over the vehicle.

Nagaraju, 36, was a native of Anantapur and resident of Kukatpally. While his wife is a home-maker and the couple has a two-and-a-half year old son.

He was returning home in Kukatpally from his office in Begumpet. “He reached Bharatnagar where the roads are narrow. It is yet to be ascertained if Nagaraju was trying to overtake a bus and slipped under it, or if the bus driver failed to notice the biker while he was taking a U-turn. We collected the CCTV footage and is being verified.”

20 Kids Escape as Bus Veers Off Road

Hyderabad: Twenty students of a school had a terrifying experience when their school bus driver lost control of the vehicle which veered of the road Bandamadharam, Medchal police said. The incident occurred near a railway level-crossing gate. A student suffered injuries on her nose.

The driver claimed that the he could not steer the vehicle which ended up in an agricultural field. Farm workers rushed to rescue the children and informed the police. No complaint was filed, police said.

RPF Hands Over Recovered Mobiles

Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP) has recovered 870 stolen or lost mobile phones worth Rs.87 lakh since April last year, using the (Central Equipment Identity Register) of the Union telecommunication department, and handed them over to their owners on Monday.

On Monday, the GRP returned about 110 mobiles to passengers, said railways IG K. Ramesh Naidu. He said a team lead by GRP superintendent of police G. Chandana Deepti had recovered the phones.

Apart from Telangana, the GRP recovered mobiles from states like Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh. Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, Deepti said.

She asked railway passengers who lost their mobiles, or those whose gadgets were stolen, to approach the police who could block the phones with IMEI numbers. The CEIR portal could be used to track and retrieve the phones.

Man Arrested for Carrying Sword

Hyderabad: The south zone task force and Chatrinaka police arrested a man carrying who was carrying a sword on Monday. He was traced and arrested after he posted pictures of himself with the sword.

The accused, G. Ajay Kumar, 30, of Chatrinaka was arrested under the Arms Act and produced before a court for judicial remand, task force additional DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao said.
