Dindi ARI in ACB net for accepting Rs.5,000 as bribe

Hyderabad: Nenavath Shyam Naik, an Additional Revenue Inspector (ARI) at the office of the Tahasildar at Dindi in Gundlapally mandal in Nalgonda district, was caught red handed by Telangana ACB when he allegedly demanded Rs.10,000 and accepted a bribe of Rs.5,000- from a complainant.

He demanded bribe for doing an official favour for conducting an enquiry for processing and forwarding Kalyana Lakshmi scheme application of the complainant’s sister. The ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount from the possession of Naik and his right hand fingers which came into contact with the tainted bribe amount yielded positive results in the chemical test.

The officials said Naik performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. Naik was trapped in 2020. They produced him before a special court for ACB cases in Nampally after which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
