Don't compromise on quality of CC road, drainage works: Tummala
Khammam: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Saturday said officials should never compromise on quality of works while laying CC roads and building drainage systems.
The Congress government was committed to providing all amenities in urban and rural areas, he said while laying the foundation stone for a CC road in 22nd ward in Khammam.
CC roads and drainage system would help in ensuring cleanliness, he said, adding the government has decided to lay CC roads and develop drainage system in all colonies of urban areas. He asked urban dwellers to cooperate with the sanitation staff in creating healthy atmosphere in towns.
He also instructed officials to send proposals for CC roads in the newly-developed colonies. He underlined the need to focus on sanitation during outbreak of seasonal diseases. Drainage lines should be cleaned regularly.
Nageswara Rao asked municipal officials to see rainwater does not stagnate on roads and potholes. Khammam municipal corporation mayor Punukollu Neeraja, commissioner Abhisek Agastya and others attended the programme.
