Drinking Water Mixing with Drainage in Serilingampally
Hyderabad: Residents of Premnagar, New Hafeezpet, Serilingampally mandal, are grappling with serious water contamination. The Manjeera water pipeline, which passes through a manhole, is getting mixed with drainage water from nearby houses due to improper drainage connections. Around 15 houses are being affected due to this issue.
Despite raising the issue multiple times, residents say no permanent solution has been provided. “We have raised two complaints, but there has been no permanent solution. The problem still exists and it’s causing severe inconvenience to everyone,” said a resident.
The issue has been ongoing for months, with temporary fixes failing to address the root cause. “We have been facing a lot of issues because of this and no proper solution has been given.
In August, the water board sent a worker, who came and laid cement on the Manjeera pipeline, but due to leaks from other pipelines, the cement started dripping off. We raised another complaint after that but received a message saying the issue was resolved,” said Balbheem, another resident.
The residents are requesting the authorities to take immediate action and give permanent solutions instead of temporary fixes. “We have been raising concerns for a long time. Please take the necessary steps to separate both the connections and ensure clean water for the residents,” said L. Yamini, another resident.
