Driver Held in Hyderabad for Using Fake Number Plate
It was found that Mehdi used a fake vehicle number plate to his bike which he purchased in the year 2019 and did not get registered at the RTO office

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police detected the involvement of a person using a fake number plate of another's vehicle number by not getting his vehicle registered with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) here.
Based on the information, the Saidabad police registered a criminal case and apprehended the accused Syed Hussain Mehdi alias Izhan, 22, a driver and resident of Chanchalguda.
During verification, it was found that Mehdi used a fake vehicle number plate to his bike which he purchased in the year 2019 and did not get registered at the RTO office concerned with the intention of misleading the enforcement authorities to avoid traffic challans.
It was revealed that by using the fake registration number plate, Mehdi committed multiple traffic violations, resulting in traffic challans wrongly generated against the legitimate registered vehicle of Md. Ibrahim of Aman Nagar in Talabkatta.
Accordingly, a criminal case has been registered at Saidabad police station under Sections 318(4) of BNS and Section 158 and 177 of M.V Act. The police issued a notice to Mehdi under Section35 (3) of BNSS.
The Hyderabad traffic police cautioned the general public that the use of fake, identical or tampered number plates is a serious and punishable offence under the BNS and the Motor Vehicles Act, and such violations will be dealt with strictly as per law.
The Hyderabad traffic police are equipped with advanced technological systems, including CCTV surveillance and ANPR cameras, to detect vehicles using fake, identical and tampered number plates and to effectively track vehicle movements.
