Hyderabad:Sanitation staff in GHMC's Santoshnagar Circle-7 received their pending salaries for October 2024 on Monday, following a report published in the Deccan Chronicle regarding the delay.
Following the news article, GHMC officials promptly credited salaries to 430 employees. Alwar Shiva Kumar, president of the TG MCH Employees and Workers Union, expressed gratitude to Deccan Chronicle for bringing attention to the issue.
One of the sanitation workers shared relief upon receiving the due, saying the delay had caused financial strain, particularly during the festive season and for paying rent.
A sanitation field assistant told Deccan Chronicle that he was feeling uncomfortable assigning work to the staff knowing their salaries were not paid.
