ECI Releases Schedule for Biennial Elections to Legislative Councils of AP and TG
Election Commission of India has released the schedule for the biennial elections to the Legislative Councils of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the schedule for the biennial elections to the Legislative Councils of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by the MLAs, to fill the seats of members retiring on March 29, 2025.
The terms of Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Janga Krishnamurthy, P. Ashok Babu, Tirumal Naidu, and Duvvarapu Rama Rao will end in Andhra Pradesh by March 29. In Telangana, the terms of Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod, Sheri Subhash Reddy, Egge Mallesham, and Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi will come to an end. In this context, the Election Commission has released the schedule.
Important Dates:
Issuance of election notification: March 3
Nominations process begins: March 10
Scrutiny of nominations: March 11
Withdrawal of nominations: March 13
Polling: March 20 (9 am to 4 pm)
Counting of votes: March 20 (from 5 pm, after the end of polling)
