Ecstatic BJP Leaders, Cadre Celebrate

Hyderabad: Tuesday saw the BJP state headquarters enveloped in a festive mood with party leaders and workers jostling for space amidst excitement that the party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set for its third successive term at the Centre. The party arranged for a large screen for everyone to catch up with the election results live. Many of the cadre wore T-shirts with ‘Modi ka Parivar’ written on them, while ‘Jai Shri Ram’ rent the air every time the party’s numbers increased.

Mahila Morcha president Dr Shilpa Rao told Deccan Chronicle, “BJP has started its journey in Telangana. Hopefully, we will achieve the double-digit mark soon. We have already reached the magical figure to form the government. This time, our morcha has done a tremendous job by reaching out to every woman across constituencies by way of door-to-door campaigning.”

She said that apart from conducting mahila sammelans, they interacted with self-help groups and around 12 lakh beneficiaries of e-Labharathi.

Party spokesperson Rani Rudramma Reddy said “Wherever we went, we only heard one remark ‘chinna vote for kottha party and pedda vote for Narendra Modi.’ The people feel that the BJP should be there for the nation's security. They were all for Modi as the Prime Minister, all over again. Incidentally, we have doubled our tally from the four seats we had won in 2019 in Telangana.”

Meanwhile, celebrations in the Secunderabad parliamentary constituency saw Union minister G. Kishan Reddy’s wife Kavya bursting firecrackers. Party workers took out a rally from Barkatpura chaman to Kishan Reddy’s residence amid bursting of crackers and drumbeats. Kishan Reddy has successfully retained the Secunderabad seat.
