Egg carts worth Rs 55,000 distributed to jobless youth in Warangal

So far, more than 400 egg carts, worth Rs 2 crore in all, have been distributed

WARANGAL: In a bid to create employment opportunities and empower local communities, National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) zonal chairman Errabelli Pradeep Rao initiated a free distribution drive of egg carts, valued at Rs 55,000, for underprivileged youth and women in Warangal district. So far, more than 400 egg carts, worth Rs 2 crore in all, have been distributed, including 100 at an event held at his residence in the city on Sunday.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Pradeep Rao explained that the Egg Carts scheme — launched with the support of NECC national president Anuradha Desai — is designed to boost livelihood opportunities and bolster the local poultry farming industry. “This initiative is aimed at providing self-employment to those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to generate sustainable incomes,” he said.

The distribution drive has already made a significant impact on beneficiaries. Rajya Laxmi, a mother of two, expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating, “I have been struggling to find steady work, but this egg cart offers a vital source of income for my family.” Another beneficiary, Srinivas, added, “Even though Pradeep Rao was not successful in the last elections, his commitment to helping the poor remains unwavering. This egg cart gives me hope and the means to start a small business.”
