Elderly couple's murder: Cops intensify technical investigation
Hyderabad: The special team probing the murder of an elderly couple at their house in Saibabanagar of Amberpet recorded the statement of the driver employed by the victim’s son in-law Jaipal Reddy. Police have also intensified technical investigation to identify the assailants, police sources said.
They have examined mobile phones of the suspects and are collecting call records apart from urging the service provider for data to identify those in the vicinity of the house where K. Linga Reddy and his wife Urmila were killed, sources said.
Mohammed Jaffar of Safdarnagar, Borabanda, who had been working as a driver for Jaipal Reddy for eight months, stated before the investigation officer that on October 17 morning he had picked up a tiffin box from Urmila Devi and went to Kompally to pick up Jaipal Reddy from his house to RGIA airport, police sources said.
On October 19 Jaffar received a call from Jaipal Reddy, who stated that he was in Karnataka, and his in-laws were not responding to his calls. He asked Jaffar to go to their house and check, sources said.
After Jaffar, reportedly one of the suspects, reached the victim's house around 12.10 pm on October 19, he saw police at the house.
Jaffar was taken into custody by Amberpet police and his statement has been recorded, police said.
