Narayanpet: An elderly woman staged a protest with a petrol bottle at the Nagireddypalli gram panchayath office in Maddur mandal, Narayanpet district.
The woman, identified as Padmamma, protested against the officials for not granting permission to construct a house on her patta land, which she had sold to another person. Padmamma explained that she sold the land, originally belonging to her late husband, to a villager after her sons failed to care for her. However, her sons have been obstructing the new owner from constructing a house on the property.
Despite the sale, the Panchayat Secretary has been delaying the construction permit for the past three months, she said. Padmamma questioned the officials about their refusal to grant permission for the construction and the sale of her land.
The police intervened and assured Padmamma that the issue would be resolved.
