Electrical Safety Week: TGNPDCL Aims to Reduce Accidents

Hyderabad: TGNPDCL Chairman and Managing Director K. Varun Reddy announced that Electrical Safety Week will be observed from May 1 to May 7 across all 18 circles under its jurisdiction, with a focus on creating awareness among consumers about safe use of electricity.
On Thursday, at the Singapore Substation in Huzurabad Division of Karimnagar Circle, the CMD released wall posters and pamphlets designed to promote electrical safety, in the presence of operation and maintenance staff.
He interacted with the staff and enquired whether they were using proper safety equipment while carrying out their duties. He emphasized that regular maintenance of power lines is essential to ensure better and quality power supply to consumers.
Addressing the gathering, the CMD stated that nodal officers appointed in all 18 circles should actively educate consumers and farmers on electrical safety. He instructed officials to conduct field visits and organize awareness meetings to ensure complete understanding of safety practices among the public.
He reiterated that the primary objective of the Electrical Safety Week is to bring down electrical accidents to zero. He noted that negligence, carelessness, and lack of awareness are major causes of electrical accidents and stressed the importance of self-discipline in preventing such incidents.
